Beef Lasagna

Ingredients:

Lasagna Sheet
Shredded Mozarella Cheese
Grated Parmesan Cheese
Button Mushroom

Red sauce/Bolognese Sauce:
Minced meat
Tomato Sauce
Tomato Paste*
Chopped Tomatoes*
Italian mixed spices/ Bolognese mixed spices*
Parsley-Minced
Green Paper -Optional
Onion-Diced
Salt
Garlic- Minced

White Sauce:
Butter
Flour
Milk
Salt
Pepper

Preparation:

  1. Soak the lasagne sheet for about 15 minutes in hot water. Preheat the oven at 200 degree C or gas mark 6.

Red/Bolognese Sauce:

  1. Cook the bolognese sauce as you usually cook for your spaghetti. To cut some steps(and ingredients…marked as * above), you can buy a ready-made bolognese sauce. Or else, just follow this steps.
  2. Brown the onion and garlic, and add the minced meat and mushroom afterwards. Stir frequently until cooked, and add Green Paper. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste and tomato sauce.  Later, add in the spices and salt to taste. Always taste the sauce as you add all the ingredients and add accordingly. Some people will add sugar to make it sweeter.   Stir further and allow sauce to simmer 15-45 minutes to thicken. Remove from heat.

White Sauce:

  1. Warm the milk, not until boiling in a saucepan.
  2. In another saucepan, melt butter or margarine. When it melted, add in the flour and mix well until smooth. Just before it starts to turn brown, slowly add the milk. Stir continuously until the sauce begins to thicken. When thicken, add in salt and pepper. Remove from heat.

Lasagne preparation:

  1. In  a baking dish, spread the red sauce(use about 2 ladle) and cover with white sauce. Sprinkle the cheese (preferably shredded mozarella) on top.
  2. Dry the lasagne sheet and layer them on top of the cheese. Repeat the steps until you reach the top of the baking dish. As the finishing part, instead of layering the lasagne sheet, sprinkle a generous amount of grated parmesan cheese on top.
  3. Cover the top of baking dish with aluminium foil and bake for about 30 minutes or so.
  4. Let the Lasagne cool down about 15 minutes before consumption, the fillings gonna be too hot otherwise.
